
On Saturday night, our HNHS band, The Splinters, won first place at the Rockquest Hawke's Bay regional final with an outstanding performance. The band members, William Bush (guitar), Reef Bridges (bass and vocal), Fletcher Cooper (guitar), Anthony Thompson (drums) and Gus Klingender (vocals), also received the ZM Best Song Award, and Gus Klingender won the APRA Lyric Award.
The band now has about three weeks to record a three-song set and submit it to be considered for selection as one of the top 10 national finalists playing live on September 20th.
