Astrid is a scholar in the true sense of the word. She knows that hard work and perseverance have their rewards. Her consistent achievement at the highest level has been outstanding. Astrid's determination and focus recognises her as proxime accessit of Havelock North High School for 2015. Astrid received a Principal's Academic Award for Prize in Mathematics with Statistics 1, Prize in Classical Studies, Prize in Media Studies, Prize in History, Distinction in English and the von Dadelszen Cup for outstanding achievement in the Humanities. Astrid also received the Communication Cup. She has shown excellent communication skills in a wide range of media and other activities. She helped promote the recent Arts Festival, attended the Youth Parliament at Victoria University and she has also written a number of articles for the Hawkes Bay Today. Astrid's attention to detail, her ability to work independently, and her research and analysis skills have been outstanding. In written, oral and visual forms, her communication skills are very advanced and reflect a genuine interest in this field.
