Congratulations to year 13 student Samuel Wixon on winning the Hawke’s Bay YES Young Entrepreneur of the Year for the second time. Samuel, CEO of Te Kete ō Tangaroa, was also awarded the YES Excellence award in Sales and Marketing and a National Excellence award for 2020. These will be presented at the National YES Awards ceremony at Te Papa in December along with the $1000 prize.

The HNHS companies, formed as part of the year 12 and 13 business courses together with other Hawke’s Bay schools, are eligible for regional and national prizes. However, only six made the final this year, including two of our year 13 companies, TIFAMEL ORGANICS and TE KETE Ō TANGAROA. A year 12 company GREENWAY were runners-up for the YES Most Innovative Company of the year.

Congratulations to all for their well-presented pitches and their confidence in answering the judges’ questions.
