Jenna Tidswell Dux for 2018


 

At the Senior Prize Giving on Friday 2nd November, Jenna Tidswell was awarded the Foundation Trophy for Dux and Mitchell Beressa the David Barham Trophy for Proxime Accessit. Jenna was the recipient of the Barrett Cup for outstanding achievement in the sciences, the Mathematics Cup for academic excellence in mathematics, prize in biology, distinction in physics and distinction in chemistry. Jenna established herself as the top scholar in year 11 and 12 and her academic prowess continued in 2018. She also received the Lattey Family Prize to the student who best epitomises the school motto ‘Aim to Excel’ and the Premier Girls’ Sports Award. Jenna won an Otago University Academic Excellence Scholarship to the value of $35,000 where she will study Health Science. Mitchell’s hard work and excellent work ethic earned him the respect of his teachers and peers alike and these attributes recognise him as Havelock North High School Proxime Accessit for 2018. Mitchell received a prize in digital technology and distinction in biology, chemistry, physics and mathematics with calculus. Mitchell will be studying Electronics and Computer Systems Engineering at Victoria University next year. Congratulations Jenna and Mitchell.
