On Wednesday 26th September the HNHS Special Needs Unit attended the Taekwondo Inter-school Championships. Our six-man team of Opal Taylor, Daniel Walker, Joemie Jones, Ashleigh Godfrey and Sapphire Jensen competed in the team pattern event against six other teams from the disability community. After an amazing performance, the team were awarded the gold medal for first place. 

All students entered the individual patterns event, power breaking and jumping high kick and were awarded gold, silver and bronze medals in all the events. Congratulations to Opal, Daniel and Ashleigh who won gold medals for individual patterns in their age and gender brackets of the competition. 

Havelock North High School received the trophy for the Best Overall team.  We are very proud of all our students who behaved beautifully and competed with pride.  Well done.
