Arran Cargill-Brown wins Smokefreerockquest MAINZ scholarship

Congratulations to Arran Cargill-Brown, bassist in school rock band, Charlie Whack, who has been awarded the Smokefreerockquest MAINZ scholarship.  Charlie Whack won the HB regional Smokefreerockquest competition in June after being together for only a few months.   Arran's MAINZ scholarship was announced at the national final and goes towards more than $4000 worth of tuition fees at either the Auckland or Christchurch campus of Tai Poutini Polytechnic.
Arran isn’t sure what he is going to do, but if he does go to MAINZ he is thinking about studying audio engineering.   Arran also has a real passion for jazz performance, which is offered at Otago, Canterbury or the NZ School of Music.   He has many options and his ambition is to take music as far as he can.  If that doesn’t work Arran has a back-up plan.  We wish him the best and believe he has every chance of fulfilling his dream.
