HOD Science, Mr Matthew McGovern awarded presigious Woof Fisher Fellowship

The school was delighted that HOD Science, Mr Matthew McGovern, has been awarded a Woolf Fisher Fellowship for 2017. The Fellowships are awarded to outstanding educators in New Zealand schools to enable them to travel and further develop their knowledge in a particular subject area. The Fellowship was announced by Dr Nigel Evans, the Secretary of the Trust, at a recent staff meeting.
Woolf Fisher Fellowships were established in 1960 by Mr Woolf Fisher. Mr Fisher was a very successful industrialist who, together with Mr Maurice Paykel, founded Fisher and Paykel in the early 1930s. The contribution of recipients of the Fellowships to New Zealand education over the 50-plus years that they have been awarded, has been immense. We look forward to Mr McGovern sharing  his learnings with us.

Mr McGovern congratulates the 2016 school Dux, Nathan Miller, at the recent Senior Prize Giving Ceremony
