Georgia Hulls, the 21-year-old former HNHS student delighted crowds in Hastings on Saturday by winning a gold medal in the national championship in the 2oom final. She defeated defending champion Zoe Hobbs in a memorable race, finishing in 23.21 seconds.
In April 2018, Georgia relocated to Auckland’s North Shore and began training with sprint coach James Mortimer. Adjustments were made to the way she trained, including adding gym work for the first time in her career. The programme was more structured and technical, but Georgia believes she has made significant improvements under James’ guidance, and the results speak for themselves.
Georgia also won a silver medal the day before in the 100m final, with reigning champ Zoe taking gold. Congratulations, Georgia, on the amazing results and we look forward to following your career in the coming year.
