A third placing at the World Schools' Championships in Scotland, on the middle course, earned our girls Hawke's Bay Secondary School Team of the Year for 2008.  Winning New Zealand Top School the year before had won our girls the right to represent New Zealand at the world championships.

The girls made Havelock North High the first school to win North Island Top School four years running, with two of our three national representatives, Jaime Goodwin and Sara Bailey, making the New Zealand Development Squad.

The boys are runners-up nationally and a fine intake of year nines may improve that ranking in a year or two.
