Teacher in charge:  Mr Mathieson

Details

Students need to register and pay $90 ($100 for 1st XI) to the executive office by 19 March 2010.  Only those who have paid may trial.  Teams entered are dependent on registration numbers.

Secondary Schools' Competition

Boys' and Girls' First Eleven teams play at Park Island on a Wednesday evening.

Boys' Second Eleven play on a Tuesday evening.

Girls' Second Eleven play on a Monday evening.

Parents are responsible for team members getting to and from Park Island.  Team lists and the draw will be handed out when known and students can then organise to share rides.  For the occasional game (4.15pm) the school minibus may be available.

Uniform

Playing tops are provided.  First Eleven girls also receive a skirt, tracksuit and gear bag.  First Eleven boys wear the school maroon PE shorts, as do Second Eleven boys.  Winter sports socks (blue/maroon) need to be purchased from Hunt and Seek in the Village.  All players need mouthguards, shin pads, sports shoes, hockey stick and drink bottle.

Practices on the school turf

These practices are compulsory.  Team selection each week is determined by those who are at practice.  Practice times and all other information, including the draw, will be posted on the hockey notice board in the Lockwood gymnasium foyer.

Inter-school sports exchanges/Tournaments

We have junior sports exchanges (CHB and Central 6).  We have senior sports exchanges (Tawa and Wairarapa).  First Eleven teams travel to play in the New Zealand Secondary Schools' tournaments in September.
