The school has excellent practice and playing facilities.
The practice nets and artificial pitch have been renovated in 2007 and these are left open for use after school and weekends. Our No. 1 grass pitch is the best school pitch in Hawke’s Bay. Many opponents will offer to give up their “home” draw in order to play on our pitch.

What the school expects of its cricketers
1. At all times you should be playing to win. You should enjoy the game but no “mucking around” at any time. You must always play the game properly and to the best of your ability and always be competitive.
2. You follow the code of behaviour and uniform.
- wear cricketing whites please. You don’t have to wear white shoes though these are preferred. No T-shirts. Cricket shirts with collars are required.
- hats should be school cricket cap or white sunhat style. Buy these from Mr Armon.
- do not criticize the umpires' rulings or show dissent at their decisions. No matter what you say, they will not change their minds so you are wasting your breath and being disrespectful.
- no sledging or laughing at opponents efforts.
- don’t get involved in arguments with other players or coaches. If there is a problem, talk to Mr Adams about it the following week.
3. Communicate with your coach about your availability from week to week.
- it is your responsibility to tell him personally if you won’t be at the next game or at practice. Do not leave it up to him to assume that you won’t be there on Saturday if you aren’t at practice. If you cannot tell him yourself, leave a message at the office.
- once you have committed to the team you must be available to play every week other than for sickness or if you are going out of town. If you want to play on a casual basis this must be explicitly negotiated with the coach.
4. You must pay your fees to play.
- 1st XI $50.00 per term
- Other teams $40.00 per term
