HNHS Foundation
The HNHS Foundation is a charitable trust established to promote the development and growth of the school for the advancement of current and future pupils of Havelock High School and for the community, drawing on the belief that a strong school equals a strong community.
The Foundation has been created to:
- Fundraise for capital projects
- Build and hold a strong capital base, with investment returns available for development
- Benefit future generations of the school
- Raise awareness of the HNHS Foundation in the community
- Grow support and confidence in the HNHS Foundation from pupils, past pupils, the school family and the community
The Foundation is determined to provide the platform for Havelock North High School to continue its mission of offering the widest variety of opportunities to every student and to offer the best secondary education in New Zealand. We are thoroughly committed to provide a pathway for the success of the future generations of our school.
The objectives of providing educational excellence and maintaining the school’s position amongst the leaders in this country are threatened by the pressure of on-going funding issues.
James Drysdale, an ex pupil and the chairman of the HNHS Foundation, stated; “The Foundation believes that it is our role to provide as many opportunities for the students of Havelock North High School to direct them into a successful life beyond their Secondary School education. Limited government funding is unfortunately a sign of the times. The Foundation has accepted the challenge to raise the additional funds to enhance the schools programmes and facilities to maintain the focus on the provision of an excellent education for all of the students.”

The Foundation has established a "Foundation Members" for Ex-students and Friends of the School Database through this website. Ex-students, parents and friends are welcome to join the database and to share information about themselves with other ex-students, staff and the members of the HNHS Foundation.
