Changing Rooms Upgrade

'Why follow the steps of another to find out where our dreams will lead us.'
Peter Block

The major capital project for 2010/2011 is the renovation to the changing rooms, which are still in their original condition. The changing rooms are utilised not only by students and visiting sporting teams but also by the community who use the schools sporting facilities.

Cultural Equipment

“A mind once stretched by a new idea never regains its original dimensions”.
Anonymous

HNHS has an enviable reputation nationally in the performing arts. Drama and music can be studied at all levels in the school curriculum and there is keen competition to participate in the many and co-circular opportunities offered. Equipment for the music, drama and arts departments will ensure the school continues to achieve national honours and achievements.

Gym and Sports Equipment

‘The habits we form from childhood make no small difference, but rather they make all the difference”.
Aristotle

Sport at HNHS is guided by two key principals - breadth of opportunity and quality of performance. 33 sports are played at the school with over 65% of students participating in sports teams. And it not only in participation that HNHS excel, with many students representing their various sports on both the regional and national arena. With the school no fielding over 116 sports teams the requirement for sports equipment continues to grow.

Alternatively you may wish to contribute toward a general fund for future developments and opportunities for HNHS students. Your contribution to a general fund enables the Foundation to apply funding to the most urgent projects around the school and those which will positively impact on the students’ futures.

Scholarships

‘Let us think of education as the means of developing our greatest abilities, because in each of us there is a private hope and dream which, fulfilled, can be translated into benefit for everyone.’
John F Kennedy

Education is one of the most important gifts we give our community. The Foundation believes it is important to recognise pupils who have shown a strong determination and dedication to the school.

The Foundation scholarships will assist students with their future education with the hope the students will continue to be good ambassadors for the school and the community.
