Special Needs Unit

The Special Needs Unit was established in 1990.  It provides programmes of learning for ORRS funded students.

We aim to help students:

  • with programmes catered to meet individual needs in the Special Needs Unit
  • by providing support in mainstreamed class placements

Students can:

  • have individual needs met with appropriate support
  • work in a warm, friendly environment
  • learn life skills
  • join in all facets of school life, including House and sporting activities
  • participate in Transition to Work programmes

Parents can:

  • be an integral part of the goal setting team at IEP meetings
  • be assured that students' learning needs will be met
  • know that their child will be included and supported in all areas of their learning and development
