Life Skills

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ATTITUDES FOR A CHANGING WORLD

Life Skills gives the opportunity to students to begin planning and thinking about their future beyond school. It’s a chance for them to gain some skills that might make them more employable in a competitive world.

The course aims to give those students enrolled in it the chance to gain knowledge skills and attitudes that will enable them to go on learning in a changing world. They will then be able to participate fully in everyday life. It also, hopefully, develops understanding of, and respect for, themselves and others.

The course offers an average of 22 credits – this depending on the options a student selects in the modules offered. Credits are gained at levels 1 – 3 on the National Qualifications Framework, and are completely cross creditable to NCEA at these levels.
